Hey there, I’m Sharon McCay. I reside in south St. Pete with my husband and 3 kids. I’m a wannabe homesteader and aspiring herbalist. I truiy believe that the earth gives us medicine and love to learn how we can use plants to heal our bodies and minds.
Some background: I grew up in NJ, a beach girl at heart, and moved to NYC for college. I spent the next 14 years in the city but my heart yearned for the beach and sunshine (and more space). We finally made the move to Florida (my husband’s home state) in 2020 and haven’t looked back. We felt so at home in St. Pete right away and know that this is where we’re meant to be. I’m passionate about holistic health, cooking, living sustainably, raising my kids respectfully, and spending time in nature.
I became a doula after having my first son. My experience was equal parts amazing and hard. The hardest part, though, was feeling alone in the early postpartum weeks. I had a supportive husband and midwife, but there was an aspect of support that was missing. I needed a village. And I needed a doula.
After that experience, I decided to quit my job at a media company to become a birth and postpartum doula. I have since served over 50 families. Helping moms in their breastfeeding journey is a particular love of mine. I have spent the past 7.5 years (and counting) breastfeeding a child between my three and it’s a huge part of my relationship with my kids. If a mom wants to breastfeed, I am passionate about helping her find a way to make it happen.
I am so excited to be serving the St. Pete area families and helping them find their wild wisdom in birth and parenting.
